Germany, Kranenburg 1280

A sick farmer was unable to swallow the host and spat it out under a tree. Years later, the tree was felled – and a cross was found in its wood. This discovery led to the construction of the Church of St. Peter and Paul, which remains a destination for numerous pilgrims to this day. The “Miraculous Holy Cross” is venerated there and has been honored by popes with privileges and indulgences.
