A miller stole a consecrated host in order to desecrate it. However, it began to bleed and attracted believers from all around the area. In remembrance, the Ried Chapel was built, which remains a destination for processions to this day. Although the relic was lost over the centuries, veneration has remained alive and the chapel is richly decorated with depictions of the Passion of Christ.
