Belgium Brussels 1370

On Good Friday in 1370, blasphemers stabbed consecrated hosts with knives—and suddenly saw them begin to bleed. The act and its consequences shook the city. The hosts were solemnly transferred to the cathedral, where they were venerated for centuries. Numerous stained glass windows and artworks in the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula still commemorate this event today.
