On January 26, 1902, during the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the parish church of Saint-André, the face of Christ appeared on the Host in the monstrance. Numerous faithful, including the parish priest Henry Lacombe, witnessed the apparition, which lasted several hours. Eyewitnesses described the face of Jesus with a crown of thorns, which was eventually replaced by a cross over the entire Host.
