Germany, Bettbrunn 1125

A devout farmer, out of excessive zeal, took a consecrated host home to pray there. One day, when it fell to the ground, no one could pick it up—until the Bishop of Regensburg vowed to build a church on that spot. This is how the pilgrimage church of Saint Salvator in Bettbrunn came to be, which soon became the destination of many pilgrims.
